Electing and supporting solid Republicans to every local, county, state and federal office, for the freedom, security and prosperity of all these United States and all our people.

Welcome!

Dear Friends,

The Clackamas County Republican Party is all about getting involved, electing Republican candidates, streamlining government and making it more accountable. Less government, less taxes and taking more personal responsibility are part of the fundamental principles of our party. By working together with the party we can identify and elect Republican candidates that reflect our views. If you are searching for change in our government and want to help promote Republican values then we need you. Help us elect Republicans. If you are excited about helping to change the future, JOIN US!

Michael Steele - I like him but.........

http://newsmax.com/Headline/steele-obama-race-gibbs/2010/04/05/id/354777?s=al&promo_code=9B23-1

I continue to support Michael Steele despite the so called spending controversies that appear in the news.  We must be suspicious of the media who would look to discredit the republican party at a time when momentum is building for the party.  They would like nothing better than to drive a wedge between the party faithful and its leadership.

What I DO NOT like is Michael Steele using the "race card" as an excuse for the criticisms that may come his way.

Diversity of Thought

Letter to BizJournals by Richard Jaskiel:

Dear Mr. Wessel:

Diversity of thought, not ethnicity, is long overdue at Oregon’s – and the nations – universities.  If additional faculty who happen to have different skin color continue to produce  unquestioning, ideologically homogenous graduates, where’s the gain?

CCCC Letter to Congressmen Wu, Schrader and other federal officials

March 18, 2010

Dear Congressman Wu,

On behalf of Clackamas County Republicans, I am writing to convey our alarm and deep concerns about the Democrat’s health insurance legislation you are considering.

What is Conservatism, Really?

by Jeff Grossman

The term “conservative” is thrown about with great abandon. Rarely does anyone pause to ask, what does that really mean? My answer is more than just a few labels. Conservatism is a world view – a way of understanding the world around us and a way of reacting to people and events. Specifically, it deals with nature and relationships – the nature of mankind and the manner in which people relate to one another; the nature of government and the relationship between government and its citizens.

The Birth of the TEA Party Patriot

Many grassroots organizations have been springing up lately, demanding that
government recognize the concerns emerging from taxpayers.  The "TEA" (Taxed
Enough Already) Party movement arose from public recognition that
government was no longer "of, by, and for the people", and they were
suffering an enormous burden of TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION - a
situation uncomfortably reminiscent of pre-revolutionary America.

Time to get George Taylor back

I think it is time that George Taylor is reinstated as Oregon's climatologist. I was so proud of OSU for having a real scientist who was willing to question global warming. It said to me, "This is a University that really believes in science and research". But, then, equally disappointed and discouraged when they bent to the political pressures of the left and pulled him from his position. Now that the truth is beginning to surface, I think that OSU needs to reinstate him and reclaim their name as a science university, willing to follow the truth, even if it leads to unpopulist results.

Where Old WIndmills Go To Die

Government subsidies, by defying the judgment of the market, always create perverse results, chief among them luring investment into inefficient paths, stifling innovation, and wasting resources.

In other words, the only thing subsidies enhance is poverty, because every dollar taken from the economy to be redistributed harms the poor first, and hardest.

Wind energy subsidies are a perfect example, as politicians imagine they can repeal the Laws of Physics and Climate, and make the wind blow just right, all the time.

Think solar power is any better? Read to the bottom.

Foolish people institute bad policies with disastrous results.

Letter To the Editor: Conspiracy

I sent this to the Lake Oswego Review. Several times. They haven't published it yet.

To the Editor:

The American middle class, as a political and economic power, must come together, and rescue a country on the verge of possible financial collapse and total corruption.

We have given everything asked of us for the last 46 years. We are financially, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted from a 55% tax to government at all levels.

Clackamas County Response to Election Complaint - "we did nothing wrong"

Click here to read Clackamas County's response to the election law complaint I filed on Measure's 66 and 67.  Read the last paragraph - it shows the arrogance and hubris - "we did nothing wrong"

Would you rate Clackamas County government as "deplorable"?

Now, I'm not a Facebook buddy, friend, or whatever they are called these days, but I just might have to get on board. Jim Needham's Facbook survey has not only gotten the attention of Clackamas County voters, but also Clackamas County government. I guess they don't like folks being given the opportunity to critique their performance. As reported in the Portland Tribune article Will the real Clackamas County Facebook page step forward?, the County may not have liked him giving a choice of "deplorable" as one of the survey options.
