I think it's time for a new Secretary of State. Governmental bodies all over Oregon are stepping over the line when it comes to campaign finance laws, and we saw it again with Measures 66 & 67. It's time that Kate Brown starts doing her job, or she should be exposed for not upholding the integrity of our votes.
- In Clackamas County all registered voters received a mailing from Clackamas County Commissioners, supporting Measures 66 & 67. Whose tax dollars paid for that, do you suppose?
- In McMinnville, Columbus Elementary students were sent home with fliers to give to their parents, again as a support piece for Yes on M66/67 (link to RegisterGuard article). How much taxpayer-funded time and resource was used by those public employees to put out that piece, do you suppose?
Thank goodness we have folks like Clackamas County activist Alan Grosso, and CCRP Voter Integrity Chair Lyneil Vandermolen, who are demanding the SOS look into the Commissioners mailing. Thank goodness we have parents like Kristina Ribali who have asked the SOS to look into the school mailing. Now, let's all keep an eye out for any sign of life out of Kate Brown's office in Salem.
Maybe we need to send out an SOS for the SOS.
