Public Employee Unions- Let's examine the problem

Wisconsin is not the only place where public sector unions are adversarial. Here in Oregon, they represent a huge political force, and have also placed themselves in conflict with private sector taxpayers. It would seem that control of more than 80% of the state budget just isn't enough. Time to dial back that union power, and put it back into the hands of the taxpayers who pay their salaries and benefits. Need examples of the problems? Failing schools, seriously under-funded benefit promises, double-dipping, massive campaign contributions funded by taxpayers by way of public union member dues, mandatory union membership, ....

Clackamas County considers banning signs, imposing rules to preserve civility at commission meetings

Lynn Peterson uses Arizona tragedy to quiet dissent. If you think this is just a matter of "civility at commissioner meetings" think again. There are no rights Lynn and her group of leftists won't take from you given the chance.- Casey

Urban Renewal Iniative

There are two important petition gathering efforts going on right now, in my opinion, both are worthy of your support and signature.  This one would force a vote on urban renewal districts in the county.

The following is from the efforts website: www.voteonurbanrenewal.com  Please take the time to check it out and lend your support. - Casey

Great Open House

Thanks to everyone who braved the rain on Saturday to stop by our Open House.  What a great day of conversation, fellowship, and networking.

Thanks to all our candidates that stopped in... Scott Bruun, Alan Olsen, Julie Parrish, Bill Kennemer, and more.

A big thanks to Tootie Smith and Sue Hewson for all the help decorating, the place looked great.

We started our fundraiser for the 24 sq ft sign, can't wait to see Clackamas County Republicans in bright, bold letters  on one of the busiest streets in Oregon City.  If you can help us reach our goal of $750 we'll make it happen and tell the liberals we're here to stay.

Thanks to everyone that brought cookies too!

Preparations & Looking Forward

As Thanksgiving weekend comes to a close I'm finishing up the first round of preparations for the CCRP. John and I met the other day to finalize some exciting plans that will make our Party a little more nimble and fun. Can't wait to really start seeing the energy that's out there get working on making our Party a powerhouse. Still need a House Captain in HD 26-Wilsonville and HD 41- Milwaukie, know anyone?

I met with our sign maker yesterday, can't wait to see a 24 square foot lighted sign on prominent display on one of Oregon City's busiest streets!  Now, we've got to raise some money for it... have you used your Oregon Political Contribution Tax Credit yet???

OREGON - Getting Dumber

Washington State, home of liberal King County, is looking better and better every year.

Unlike it's neighbor to the south, Washington voters at least have the capacity to make course corrections from time to time. They sent Denny Heck packing. They understand the absolute danger of income taxes, even on the so called "rich" and beat it down big time. They overturned the food and beverage tax imposed by the legislature. They voted to keep the 2/3 vote requirement for taxes and fees imposed on them by the state or turn it over to the people for a vote.

Contrast this to what the "geniuses" in Oregon have voted for recently

Business Boycotts for Fiscal Conservative Support

I could not believe my ears when I heard that a good-hearted, honest business-person in our community was being threatened with boycott – simply because of support for a fiscal conservative!  This business person has achieved a significant degree of success by providing excellent, professional, and friendly service to patrons.  Their services are, by no means, adversely affected by 1st Amendment freedom to post signs in support of the candidate who will best represent them.  This is not a unique situation by any means!  If a business doesn't support incumbents, the plain and simple fact is that they will be subjected to boycott
