Time to get George Taylor back

I think it is time that George Taylor is reinstated as Oregon's climatologist. I was so proud of OSU for having a real scientist who was willing to question global warming. It said to me, "This is a University that really believes in science and research". But, then, equally disappointed and discouraged when they bent to the political pressures of the left and pulled him from his position. Now that the truth is beginning to surface, I think that OSU needs to reinstate him and reclaim their name as a science university, willing to follow the truth, even if it leads to unpopulist results.

Letter To the Editor: Conspiracy

I sent this to the Lake Oswego Review. Several times. They haven't published it yet.

To the Editor:

The American middle class, as a political and economic power, must come together, and rescue a country on the verge of possible financial collapse and total corruption.

We have given everything asked of us for the last 46 years. We are financially, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted from a 55% tax to government at all levels.

Clackamas County Response to Election Complaint - "we did nothing wrong"

Click here to read Clackamas County's response to the election law complaint I filed on Measure's 66 and 67.  Read the last paragraph - it shows the arrogance and hubris - "we did nothing wrong"

Would you rate Clackamas County government as "deplorable"?

Now, I'm not a Facebook buddy, friend, or whatever they are called these days, but I just might have to get on board. Jim Needham's Facbook survey has not only gotten the attention of Clackamas County voters, but also Clackamas County government. I guess they don't like folks being given the opportunity to critique their performance. As reported in the Portland Tribune article Will the real Clackamas County Facebook page step forward?, the County may not have liked him giving a choice of "deplorable" as one of the survey options.

Send out an SOS for the SOS

I think it's time for a new Secretary of State. Governmental bodies all over Oregon are stepping over the line when it comes to campaign finance laws, and we saw it again with Measures 66 & 67. It's time that Kate Brown starts doing her job, or she should be exposed for not upholding the integrity of our votes.

Yet another tax burden on Oregon's poorest citizens

Folks who know me know my bumper-sticker distillation of tax policy:

All Taxes Tax the Poor: It's Not Who Writes the Check, It's Who Pays the Price!

And now we have another perfect example, in the passage of 66 & 67.

With 66, Oregon voters increased the income tax rate on high earners in the state by 20%. Gee, I wonder what they will do, don't you? Let's see, they might:

OREGON'S HYPOCRITE VOTERS

Let me be up front.  I am not directly impacted by the passage of Measures 66 and 67.  These measures will not cost me a dime in any direct tax increases.   Does that give me a clear conscious to vote yes to pass them?

So what is it that made Oregon voters pass these massive tax increases on businesses and the so called “wealthy”?  Is it jealousy and class warfare?   Is it that there are now more people living off of government benefits than not?  Do they believe that the government really needs more money?  Do they now buy the lies that corporations and success are somehow evil?   I suspect the answer is a little bit of all of these reasons but let me tell you what I see.

Clackamas County has a message for Kurt Schrader

Thank you to all the Clackamas County PCP’s! Tuesday’s results were grim, but Kurt Schrader and other representatives of this County need to take notice. Clackamas County stands out strongly for fiscal responsibility.

Yahoo Poll--Obama's 1st year

Yahoo is running a poll, and I'll just bet you have an opinion to register.

Q. The president's progress with the battered economy has been both praised and criticized. How well are his efforts measuring up with you?

vote here. Oh, and it's designed for dead Democrats: you can vote more than once.

Time to give Wyden some competition in Oregon

Now, after Brown's victory in Massachusetts, a state with deeper Democrat pockets than in Oregon, will someone please call on some of our well established and respected present and past Republican Legislators and say, "Yes You Can!" Let's start naming a few: Larry George would be my first choice. Wyden has absolutely betrayed his constituents. He rode into office on the backs of seniors and with his health care bill vote out of committee and then on the floor he has stabbed them in the backs. Not only should every Republican and non-afiliated fiscal conservative be ready to hold him accountable,so should every senior, D, R, and I.
